The Formula Alpha 2022 requires Content Manager (CM) and Custom Shader Patch 0.1.77 (or above) to work.
VRC proudly presents the Formula Alpha 2022, our most ambitious project so far: Around 1000hp, with 160hp coming from an electric powertrain, a 719kg car weight, and plenty of downforce round out this machine as a track beast. Open wheel powered machines haven't used ground effect in about 40 years to slow cars down and make racing safer. It now appears to be the solution to making track racing more thrilling again.
This car has simulated porpoising! Depending on the tracksurface and the settings of the car it can get more voilent or settles down.
Fully animated driver: The driver's head bounces, arms and leg are moving according to your inputs.
Visual Upgrades: Three different rear wings, two different front wings
Animations for the car: Flexi front wing, wing angle adjustments, tape on the car, halo visibility, camber and toe changes, pedal box
This car is using some of the extended physics features and it requires Content Manager (CM) and Custom Shader Patch 0.1.77 (or above) to work properly. Vanilla physics will be provided but they are not meant to reproduce the intended handling characteristics.
Vanilla physics are provided to ensure that those who don't or can't use CSP can have something to be able to drive the car with. Vanilla physics won't be updated as frequently as the ones using extended physics features.
Recommendations:
- It is highly recommended to use the tyre app for extended physics by leBluem that you can download here:
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/tyres_app_ext.47842/
Briefly, This app will allow you to monitor carcass temperatures which can give you a good idea on the tyre grip, surface temperatures are also important due to their high volatility and participate to the tyre grip level more "instantaneously."
Core temperatures will influence the tyre pressure and change the tyre behavior over the duration of a stint.
- The car comes with two different "aerokits" which comprise both the front wing and the "floor."They both have slightly different characteristics; A-spec provides higher peak downforce, more rear downforce and is slightly draggy and stalls at a higher height which might cause bouncing and bottoming out at lower speeds than with the other aerokit. B-spec provides a higher downforce on average, more front biased downforce ,is slightly more efficient and stalls at lower heights/higher speeds. In order to control the bouncing, you can play around with the ride heights (especially the rear ride height), heave springs stiffness, heave spring travels, bumpstop stacks and dampers. A certain level of bouncing can be tolerated if it's not affecting high speed corners.
- This car features a ERS system and is provided with four MGU-K deployment profiles (high, medium, low and manual deployment.)
High, medium and low profiles will deploy 60%, 75% and 100% of the eletric torque between 6000 and 12500 rpm respectively. They are all speed-based and will progressively deploy electric power above 100kph.
Manual can be used for out laps and in case one wants to deploy the energy manually using the button (which as kept enabled although not working in a way that is compliant with known technical regulations.)
MGU-H has two modes that work in a similar way that they do on Kunos F1 cars; "Battery" mode is used to recharge the batteries and "Motor" mode (also not compliant with the regulations) will provide an additional boost.
