Description

VRC Real Helmets Project - V2.0

The Real Helmets Project (RHP) V2.0 brings detailed, realistic racing helmets to Assetto Corsa, with a focus on visual accuracy, quality materials, and authentic proportions. Designed to elevate driver immersion, RHP features detailed helmet models, realistic visors, custom aero components, HANS devices, and an improved driver model to provide a true-to-life representation of modern racing drivers in-game.

Special thanks to @designedbygrigoriadis for creating the 3D models and initiating this project in partnership with us!

Redistribution & Usage

The redistribution, re-uploading, or inclusion of the RHP helmet and driver assets in any third-party package, mod, website, or download is strictly prohibited.

You may include the provided ext_config files with your own car mods to enable the use of RHP drivers and helmets. However, the original RHP helmet and driver files must not be bundled or redistributed with those mods.

The RHP assets will remain freely available through the Virtual Racing Cars® website. If your mod requires RHP, please direct users to the official Virtual Racing Cars website to download the required files.

By using or distributing content that references RHP, you agree to respect these terms.

Installation & Instructions

  1. Locate your Assetto Corsa root folder, usually found at ...\steamapps\common\assettocorsa.
  2. Open the downloaded 7z file and locate the 'AC Files' folder.
  3. Drag and drop the contents of the 'AC Files' folder directly into your Assetto Corsa root directory (merging it with your existing 'content' folder).

Note: Do not install via Content Manager to ensure all extension files and configs are assigned correctly.

Copy the provided ext_config.ini file into one of the following locations:

  • Per skin (recommended): Place inside the specific skin folder you want to customize.
  • All skins: Place inside the car's extension folder to apply globally.

If an ext_config.ini already exists in the destination folder, do not overwrite it. Instead, open both configuration files in a text editor and merge the VRC RHP code into the existing one.

You can customize individual parts by changing the IS_ACTIVE parameters inside ext_config.ini:

  • IS_ACTIVE = 1 → Part is visible
  • IS_ACTIVE = 0 → Part is hidden
